1 GHz processor (1.5 GHz recommended for audio/video playback features).

40 GB Hard Drive (80 GB recommended for audio/video playback features).

256 MB Ram (512 MB recommended for audio/video playback features).

If you are planning to do EasyTimeÔ, you will need
a laptop with a serial port to connect to your writer. If you need to use a Serial Port USB
Adaptor for your serial connections,
please, make sure that you use the KEYSPAN
P/N: USA -19HS. This is the only device,
among many that we tested, that has passed the Microsoft Windows operating
system requirements and the only one, so far, that we have approved for
working with TeLiTor (www.keyspan.com).

You will also need a good quality
multidirectional microphone and an audio card (usually built-in in the new
laptops) for recording and playing back audio.
q
To utilize our Floor Pedal ADD-IN module for
faster and hands free audio-playback, please, ask our marketing department
about the hardware brand and prices.

The newer laptops might not have a built-in 3½”
floppy drive which is needed for importing your steno notes; however, external
drives are readily available.
q
If you are
planning to transfer your jobs electronically
and want to include the audio, you should
consider subscribing to an Internet Broadband (high speed) service and an E-mail service that accommodates large files e.g. WhaleMail (www.whalemail.com).
q A
reasonably fast read and write CD-RW drive is a requirement for archiving or
mailing the jobs due to the large size of the audio and other utility files.
SOFTWARE:
q You must have MS Word 2000 (School or Student reduced versions
might not work properly). You could install Microsoft Office (2000 or XP) which include Word and it will be just
fine. Office 10 will require to adjust the path for WINWORD.exe in the TeLiTor
Setup; the name of the folder has been changed from Office to Office10.
q Operating System: Windows 2000, Windows XP (preferred, especially
for on line support), or Windows NT.
